Preserving biodiversity is particularly close to my heart. In this vision that I have of the world around us, I created this cup with a wooden scroll, engraved with honeycombs and bees flying as if in their hive.

It's my way of paying tribute to them and drawing the attention of my customers to the protection of our insects. The bee is the strong and sympathetic symbol, with their production of honey and their gentle cohabitation for those who know how to respect them.

Let's protect them and think of them by using or offering this cup in the spirit of nature!

Dimensions: square of 12 cm side

Stoneware (clay) glazed and fired at high temperature (1250°C)

  • These cups are part of an approach: that of raising awareness of our relationship with nature.

To make them, I used the plate technique: I lowered the clay to make a 7 mm thick cake, and then flat I proceeded to print the nest texture of bees using an engraved wooden scroll. And straight away the visual is there!

    Then I have :

    • cut out my shape and used a stamping mold to give this nice rounded square volume to the cup
    • a small pinch between the thumb and index finger at the 4 corners
    • signature on the back
    • drying for about eight days
    • 1st cooking at 980°C
    • enamelling with a deep and transparent Oribe green enamel to highlight the texture
    • and 2nd cooking at 1250°C.

And this is how I put my hands and clay at the service of our planet. And in my always eco-responsible practice, to which you know, I am very attached.
